Symptoms of sleep apnea are loud snoring, daytime sleepiness and fatigue, depression, gasping for breath often and low resistance to infection in the body.
Sleep apnea can often be related to Stroke, diabetes, memory loss, depression, headaches, high blood pressure, driving and work related accidents & obesity.

Snoring can be a symptom of OSA, caused by changes in your upper airway while you are sleeping. Your airway may narrow, limiting the amount of air flow as you breathe at night. The soft tissue may vibrate making a sound that’s called snoring, or it may completely collapse at times, causing you to stop breathing for a few seconds which is called an obstructive apnea.

Snoring can be worse with overweight people or pregnant patients.

85% patients with a history of stroke have sleep apnea.

People with sleep apnea have a 3-5 times higher chance of having a sudden cardiac arrest.

If you have OSA, then you are twice as likely to die in your sleep and 7 times more likely to have a motor vehicle accident.

This treatment is often covered by your dental/medical insurance.  Give us a call to find more about sleep apnea and snoring and treatment options.
